About Blackjack Odds Trainer
Blackjack Odds Trainer is a free practice table built on one idea: show players the real odds of every decision — the number casinos don't print on the felt and most strategy sites never compute. No real-money gambling, no casino affiliate pushing you to bet. Just the math, shown honestly.
Why this exists
Most blackjack "advice" online is folklore, and most of the numbers are copied from one site to the next until nobody knows where they came from. We wanted the opposite: a trainer where every win percentage and every "average dollar result" on every button is computed live from the actual cards left in the shoe, so you can see exactly what a hit, stand, double, or split is worth — and learn why the book play is the book play.
The whole site is built around that honesty. The coach grades your decisions against perfect basic strategy, logs your mistakes with their long-run cost, and — when an off-book play happens to win — tells you it was luck, not strategy. We'd rather be the site that tells you the truth than the one that tells you what you want to hear.
Who builds it
Blackjack Odds Trainer is built and maintained by Spencer S., the site's founder. Spencer wrote the probability engine that powers the trainer and calculators. It converts a hand, dealer up-card, selected rules, and remaining-shoe composition into a deterministic expected-value model. The motivation was simple: a deep dislike of hand-wavy gambling math, and the conviction that the real numbers are more useful than the myths.
The full methodology states the inputs, rule set, validation references, and approximations, and any figure can be reproduced with the site's own calculators and trainer.
Current model version: 2026.08.1. The validation and changelog identify the published checkpoints and material model-documentation changes. Technical review and reproducible challenges from independent researchers are welcome.
Editorial and corrections policy
Calculated claims should identify their rules and be reproducible with the site's tools. Explanatory guides are reviewed when rules, cited sources, or the engine change. Corrections are made in place, and material model changes are noted on the methodology page. To challenge a figure, email the page URL, rule set, expected result, and a source or calculation we can compare.
What we don't do
- No real-money gambling. The trainer uses play chips. We don't run a casino and we don't take bets.
- No "beat the casino" promises. Basic strategy makes blackjack the cheapest game in the house; only card counting can flip the edge, and we say so plainly. We won't sell you a system.
- No copied numbers. Where competitors publish contradictory figures, ours are computed from our own engine, with the rule assumptions stated.
