Practice blackjack basic strategy at a free table

Start with live odds and coaching, or choose Just play in Settings for complete blackjack hands without hints. Switch modes between rounds without resetting your play-money balance. In practice mode, each Hit, Stand, Double, and Split button shows a modeled chance of winning and an average dollar result based on the cards left in the shoe. A coach grades every decision against the appropriate baseline strategy, logs mistakes with their long-run cost, and lets you drill the hands you keep getting wrong.

The default game is a common US casino setup — six decks, dealer hits soft 17, blackjack pays 3:2, double after split. You can change deck count, the soft-17 rule, and payout in settings. The live probability model follows the selected shoe and dealer rule; the visible reference chart covers the standard multi-deck H17/S17 game.

Why this trainer is different

Most trainers only mark an answer right or wrong. This one also prices every available action so you can see how close the decision was and what a mistake costs over time. The calculations are deterministic rather than Monte Carlo simulation, and the methodology page documents the assumptions and approximations.

1. Learn the rules. How to play blackjack covers the table flow and your four moves, card values explains why an ace is 1 or 11, and the glossary decodes the table talk.
2. Know what the dealer must do. The dealer's turn is scripted, and that script is where your edge comes from: what happens when the dealer busts and the soft 17 rule.
3. Memorize the chart. The basic strategy chart or the pocket cheat sheet, then drill it at the table above until it's reflex.
4. Fix the expensive mistakes. Split and double the right hands, and, for basic strategy without counting, decline insurance, even money, or the side bets.
5. Pick the right table. 3:2, never 6:5; fewer decks if you can get them; and bet within your bankroll.
